Frequently Asked Questions About the Pageant

 

Can I participate if I don’t have any pageant experience?

Definitely, yes!  Everyone in pageants started with their first pageant—why not start now.  You do not need any prior experience to participate or win in our pageant.  We offer training and support to all of our contestants so that you will feel prepared when it comes time for the pageant.

 

I don’t have a stage talent.  Can I still participate?

Yes. In our pageant we do not have a talent competition therefore it is not necessary to have this type of talent to do well in our program.  You will compete in Interview, Fitness in Aerobic Wear and Evening Gown.  For the Teen & Miss contestants there is also a Fun Fashion competition.

 

Why is there a pageant entry fee?

Most pageants involve an entry just like there is often an entry fee for other types of competitive events such as ice-skating, motorcycle racing, competitive soccer, etc…  This makes it possible to put on the event.  Our pageant entry fee for the 2011 pageant is just $595** which is one of the lowest in the country for a state pageant of this caliber.  **Apply early to receive discounts and incentives for the 2011 pageant.  Email director@orpageants.com for details and deadlines.

 

What is the entry fee used for?

It’s used primarily for production costs such as rental of the theater, lights, sound & staging for the pageant as well as rental of rooms at the host hotel.  Also, there are many expenses involved in sending the winners to the national pageant.

 

What is included in my entry fee?

Every contestant receives gifts and services worth nearly $500 including titleholder banner, training workshops, overnight stay at the host hotel during the pageant (when rooming with another contestant), all meals during the pageant and a generous gift bag from our sponsors.  We also offer deep discounts on pageant photos and DVD.

 

Can I get sponsors to help me cover my entry fee?

YES!  In fact, we encourage all of our contestants to find sponsors.  This is a great way to meet people in your community, promote your platform and develop confidence by being out in the public.  When you are accepted as a contestant we will send you a contestant packet that contains information and ideas on how you can cover all of your pageant expenses with sponsors.  You can also sell program book advertising to earn money towards your entry fee. 

 

How do I get started?

The first step to being a part of this exciting program is to request your application.  Please email your request to director@orpageants.com.  Once you are officially accepted as a contestant you will receive everything you need to start preparing for the pageant.

 

Can I pay my entry fee with a credit card?
